In the Monday Night Football Game, the Pittsburgh Steelers have prevailed 24-17 over the Indianapolis Colts.
Munich – In the Monday Night Football Game the Pittsburgh Steelers won 24:17 against the Indianapolis Colts.
The first half of the game belonged almost exclusively to the Steelers around their rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett. However, Pittsburgh only scored three points in the first quarter on Matthew Wright’s field goal.
Najee Harris scores first touchdown
The second quarter saw more points on the scoreboard. First, Wright again boosted the lead to 6-0 with a field goal, then Steelers running back Najee Harris raced six yards into the end zone for the game’s first touchdown.
The Colts, with interim head coach Jeff Saturday, then registered their first points through Chase McLaughlin’s field goal. Before the break, however, Wright restored the old distance with another kick – 16:3 at the break.
Colts briefly turn the game around
The Colts then got going in the third quarter. First star running back Jonathan Taylor gave Indianapolis its first touchdown, then wide receiver Michael Pittman caught a touchdown pass from quarterback Matt Ryan. So the Colts were suddenly ahead 17-16.
But it was the visitors from Pittsburgh who had the last word. Benny Snell Jr. rushed into the end zone with just over nine minutes to go – the ensuing two-point attempt also worked.
Ryan and Co. can’t think of anything else
At 24:17 for the Steelers, the Colts offense around Ryan couldn’t come up with much more. Indianapolis is now 1-2 since Saturday took over.
The Steelers remain in fourth place in the AFC North with a 4-7 record after the win. The Colts are in second place in the AFC South with the same record.
