Kansas City Chiefs struggle to win against New York Jets

The Kansas City Chiefs beat the New York Jets in the Sunday Night Game, albeit by a closer margin than expected.

It wasn’t Patrick Mahomes’ best game. In the end, the star quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs had one touchdown and two interceptions.

Nevertheless, it was enough for the signal caller and his Chiefs for a narrow 23:20 victory in New York at the Jets.

Mahomes was even on the verge of his third interception. However, the pick was returned because the referees saw a holding on the play by star player Sauce Gardner.

A controversial call. New York head coach Robert Saleh was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct moments later.

Mahomes’ counterpart Zach Wilson – who has taken harsh criticism lately – showed what he can do, however, finishing with two touchdown passes and 245 passing yards.

However, Wilson and the Jets only really got into the game in the second quarter – Saleh’s team completely slept through the first.

New York was 0:17 after the first quarter. Running back Isaiah Pacheco and tight end Noah Gray provided the Chiefs with touchdowns.

Taylor Swift watches Kelce again

And Travis Kelce? It was a comparatively quiet night for the Chiefs’ star tight end. And once again in front of his possibly new love Taylor Swift.

The pop star wasn’t the only one to see the Jets fight their way back into the game in the second quarter. The injured Aaron Rodgers also saw New York cut the deficit to 12:20 at half-time.

In the third quarter, the Jets equalised with Allen Lazard’s touchdown and a two-point conversion – before Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker became the match-winner with his field goal around eleven minutes before the end.
