The Green Bay Packers’ defence doesn’t allow the Seahawks a single point. Cam Newton is off to a furious start in his comeback with the Carolina Panthers and celebrates a resounding victory over the Arizona Cardinals. NFL News recaps the 10 p.m. games.

Seattle Seahawks at Green Bay Packers 0:17

The Green Bay Packers got back on track against Seattle after losing the previous week when they fell to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The first half of the game, however, was dominated by the defensive backs. Matt Crosby, the Packers’ kicker, provided the only points of the first half with a 27-yard field goal.

In the second half of the game, the offence did not find any solutions either. The Seahawks’ first drive was over after five plays. The Packers did not even manage a field goal.

When Seattle regained possession, they at least reached the red zone. The hoped-for touchdown, however, did not come. Instead, Wilson threw an interception into the arms of Kevin King.

Curiously, the Packers made exactly the same mistake on the following drive. They were already at the opponent’s 15-yard line when Rodgers, who was under pressure, also threw an interception. Jamal Adams intercepted the ball in the end zone.

Almost 50 minutes of play passed before the first touchdown of this game occurred. On the third try AJ Dillon got into the end zone for three yards – 10:0 for the Packers. Seattle, on the other hand, remained harmless on offence. Wilson threw his second interception on a deep pass into the end zone. This time Adrian Amos intercepted the ball.

With just under two minutes left in the game, Dillon scored his second touchdown to put the game in the Packers’ favour. While Rodgers ended up with 292 passing yards, Wilson only threw for 161 yards. No one produced a touchdown pass;

The Packers are on a safe playoff course with eight wins and two losses. The Seahawks, on the other hand, might be starting to say goodbye to that with a 3-6 record.

Minnesota Vikings at Los Angeles Chargers 27:20

The Minnesota Vikings had the better end of a thrilling game with several lead changes.

After only the kickers scored, Kirk Cousins threw a pass to Tyler Conklin for the first touchdown of the game – 13:3 for the Vikings. However, the Chargers had the right answer in the following drive and also reached the end zone through running back Larry Rountree III.

In the third period, Justin Herbert gave Los Angeles a 17-13 lead with a touchdown pass to Austin Ekeler. Minnesota changed the lead again when Cousins threw a touchdown pass to Conklin for the second time.

While the Chargers’ following offensive drive was already over after three plays, Minnesota followed up with the next touchdown. This time Cook got into the end zone – 27:17 for the Vikings. The Chargers then only managed one more field goal.

Cousins recorded 194 passing yards and two touchdown passes. Justin Jefferson was the favourite target with 143 receiving yards. Justin Herbert, the Chargers’ playmaker, finished with 195 passing yards, a touchdown pass and an interception.

The Vikings stand at a 4-5 record, the Chargers at 5-4.

Carolina Panthers at Arizona Cardinals 34-10

Returner Cam Newton had the perfect debut. His first two plays in the service of the Panthers each led to a touchdown: With his first play he ran into the end zone, with his second play he threw a touchdown pass to Robby Anderson. Less than seven minutes had passed when Carolina was 14-0 ahead.

Kicker Zane Gonzalez made it 23-0 by halftime with three converted field goals, and when Chuba Hubbard found the end zone in the third quarter and the Panthers went up 31-3 on the ensuing two-point conversion, the game was finally decided.

The Arizona Cardinals, who were without their quarterback Kyler Murray and star receiver DeAndre Hopkins due to injury, barely found their feet on offence. Colt McCoy only managed 107 passing yards and one interception. Later, third-string quarterback Chris Streveler came into the game and threw for 36 yards. The running game produced only 65 yards total.

Panthers quarterback P.J. Walker, filling in for the injured Sam Darnold, completed 22 of his 29 passes for 167 yards, but also threw an interception and a fumble. He could be replaced by Newton in the next game.

The Panthers now stand at five wins and five losses, the Cardinals at a still excellent 8-2 record.

Philadelphia Eagles at Denver Broncos 30:17

The Denver Broncos have come up short again after two straight wins. Quarterback Teddy Bridgewater threw for 226 yards but failed to produce a touchdown pass. Running back Melvin Gordon III was the only Broncos player to get into the end zone.

The Eagles’ offense was more effective. Quarterback Jalen Hurts totaled 178 passing yards and two touchdown passes. Both times DeVonta Smith was the recipient. The play of the game, however, was set up by Darius Slay, who carried a fumble 83 yards into the opposing end zone.

The Eagles now stand at a 4-6 record, the Broncos at 5-5.
