Green Bay Packers suffer bitter division defeat to Detroit Lions

The Green Bay Packers suffer a bitter defeat in their divisional duel with the Detroit Lions, with boos erupting at half-time at Lambeau Field.

Disaster for the Green Bay Packers. The Cheeseheads lost the Thursday Night Game at home in Lambeau Field against the Detroit Lions with 20:34.

Already trailing by 3:27 at halftime, the Packers had generated only a measly 21 yards, prompting boos from the stands. The Lions, for their part, had never led by such a large margin at the break in their 188-game divisional rivalry.

David Montgomery was a key factor in the visitors’ performance. The running back put 121 rushing yards and three touchdowns on the scoreboard.

In addition to kicker Riley Patterson, who scored three extra points and two field goals, Amon-Ra St. Brown was also happy. The German opened the scoring for his team right in the first quarter after a 24-yard touchdown pass from his quarterback Jared Goff. In total, St. Brown had 56 yards with five caught passes.

Lions playmaker Goff completed 19 of 28 passes for 210 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

His counterpart, meanwhile, had much less reason to be happy. After a disastrous first half, Packers signal-caller Jordan Love first caught a touchdown pass to recovered receiver Christian Watson.

Jordan Love has to accept two interceptions

The successor to Aaron Rodgers then ran nine yards into the end zone himself – but the home side were no longer really dangerous for the Lions. Bitter for Love: Detroit cornerback Jerry Jacobs intercepted him twice.

In total, the Packers quarterback completed 22 of 36 passes for 246 yards.

The victorious Lions now lead the NFC North with a record of 3-1, while the Packers are in second place with two wins and two losses.

Bitterly, Green Bay had to place left tackle David Bakhtiari on the Injured Reserve List before the game.
