The Dallas Cowboys remain a force in their home stadium!

On Thanksgiving, the Cowboys showed no weakness against the Washington Commanders, lived up to their role as favorites and celebrated their 13th consecutive home win in a row with a 45-10 victory in Week 12.

The dominance in numbers: Against the Jets, Patriots, Rams, Giants and Commanders, the Cowboys have a 205-60 point differential at AT&T Stadium.

Behind the Philadelphia Eagles (9-1), America’s Team is now 8-3 in the NFC East. The Commanders have a 4-8 record. For head coach Ron Rivera, the air in the capital is likely to get thinner and thinner.

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had a great day. He threw for 331 yards, four touchdowns and had a strong rating of 142.1.

His counterpart Sam Howell managed 300 yards, but made an interception. He ran into the end zone once himself. The Commanders were able to keep the game reasonably even for a long time, but in the end the struggling team completely fell apart. It was the Commanders’ eighth defeat in the last ten games.

Dallas Cowboys slowly gaining momentum

It took the Cowboys a while to find their rhythm. The Commanders didn’t start the game badly, but made too little of their opportunities in the first half. Prescott and Co. were mainly responsible for the touchdowns.

The Cowboys quarterback found running back Rico Dowdle and receiver Brandin Cooks in the end zone. The Commanders reduced the deficit in the meantime with a field goal from Joey Slye and a 1-yard touchdown run from Howell.

The Cowboys showed just how dominant they can be in offense shortly before halftime after Howell scored a touchdown to make it 10-14. In just under a minute and a half, Prescott and Co. rushed 75 yards in just five plays before Tony Pollard finally carried the ball into the end zone to make it 20-10.

Washington Commanders hold on at first

However, the Cowboys initially failed to add to their lead. The Commanders were able to keep the game open after the break, but also failed to score enough points to put the home side under sustained pressure.

The Cowboys extended their lead to 23:10 at the start of the final quarter with a field goal converted by Brandon Aubrey: Prescott’s third touchdown pass to CeeDee Lamb and a successful two-point conversion increased the Cowboys’ lead to 31-10.

And the Cowboys remained hungry towards the end: with another pass to KaVontae Turpin, Prescott ensured the next drive into the end zone.

And the best came at the end, as cornerback DaRon Bland intercepted a pass from Howell and carried it 63 yards into the Commanders’ end zone.

It was Bland’s fifth interception touchdown of the season, setting a pick-six record. His other touchdowns came against Daniel Jones, Mac Jones, Matthew Stafford and Bryce Young.
