Draft 2023 – Carolina Panthers: Crazy turnaround possible after trade hammering.

The Carolina Panthers traded up for the No. 1 pick on Friday. But it’s possible the franchise trades back down.

Irre turnaround on trade hammer ahead of draft (April 27-29)!

According to multiple media reports, it’s entirely possible that there will be a follow-through and the Carolina Panthers will re-sign the No. 1 pick.

They would then, after trading up from pick number nine, trade down again. That could be the case if the Panthers are comfortable with multiple quarterbacks and don’t have to rely on one, which they would then be sure to have with the first pick.

Draft: Bang on Friday

On Friday, the Panthers caused a bang when they traded away the first pick in the draft to the Chicago Bears for pick number nine and 61 for 2023, the 2024 first-round pick, the 2025 second-round pick and wide receiver D.J. Moore.

However, “ESPN”, “The Athletic” and the “Charlotte Observer” are now all reporting in unison that there could be a scenario where the Panthers trade again.

That is, of course, if there is a suitably good offer on the table and they are not in danger of losing the playmaker of the future.

At the moment the Panthers control the draft, that’s the starting position for the franchise that hasn’t been happy with successors since the Cam Newton era. A playoff berth last came in 2017.

Stroud and Young the options

Four quarterbacks are considered top talents who could go off the board early: Bryce Young of Alabama, CJ Stroud of Ohio State, Anthony Richardson (Florida) and Will Levis (Kentucky). “ESPN” reports that the Panthers are specifically looking at Stroud and Young in their deliberations and reviews in the draft process.
