NFL Week 14: Chiefs outclass Raiders, Falcons defeat Panthers

The Kansas City Chiefs have already made things clear against the Las Vegas Raiders in the first half. The Atlanta Falcons narrowly beat the Carolina Panthers. ran summarises the 7 p.m. games.

Las Vegas Raiders at Kansas City Chiefs 9:48

The Kansas City Chiefs won their sixth straight game. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes threw for 258 yards and two touchdowns. Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire ran for two touchdowns.

The game could not have started more unlucky from the Raiders’ point of view. On the very first play, running back Josh Jacobs lost the ball, which was returned for a touchdown by Mike Hughes. Even before the break, the Chiefs laid the foundation for a commanding victory. Four drives in a row resulted in a touchdown each.

This was aided by further turnovers by the Raiders. Quarterback Derek Carr (263 YDS) threw an interception, which was more the fault of pass receiver Foster Moreau. Hunter Renfrow also had a fumble. The Chiefs were already leading 35-0 at halftime. As expected, the victory was no longer in danger.

The Chiefs now have nine wins and four losses, while the Raiders have a 6-7 record.

Atlanta Falcons at Carolina Panthers 29:21

With the Falcons and Panthers entering the game with a 5-7 record, both teams were fighting for what could be their last playoff chances.

Cam Newton (178 passing yards), the Carolina quarterback, ran for the first touchdown of the game himself, but also allowed a pick six early in the second quarter. It was 17-7 in favour of the Falcons going into the break.

The game got exciting again in the final phase: 3:11 minutes before the end of the game, the Panthers reduced the deficit to 21:29 with a touchdown. However, Atlanta did not relinquish the right of attack. Quarterback Matt Ryan delivered a rather unspectacular game with 190 passing yards and one touchdown pass. The Falcons now have a 6-7 record, while the Panthers are 5-8.

Jacksonville Jaguars at Tennessee Titans 0:20

Number 1 pick Trevor Lawrence had a pitch black day. The Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback threw four interceptions. In all, he completed 24 of his 40 passes for 221 yards. With the loss, the Jaguars have lost their last theoretical chance of making the playoffs.

The Titans completed their first drive with a touchdown by D’Onta Foreman. When quarterback Ryan Tannehill ran into the end zone himself in the third period and increased the lead to 17-0, the game was practically decided due to the harmlessness of the Jaguars. Tannehill recorded a total of 191 passing yards. The Titans now have a 9-4 record, the Jaguars are 2-11.

Dallas Cowboys at Washington football team 27-20

The Dallas Cowboys have won the division duel against the Washington Football Team. Quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 211 yards and a touchdown, though he also made two interceptions.

with the fourth try out of the way, quarterback Taylor Heinicke (122 YDS) fumbled. Cowboys defensive end Dorance Armstrong picked up the ball and carried it back into the end zone for a reassuring 18-0 lead. They went into the break with a 24-0 lead.

In the second half of the game, however, things got exciting once again. Dak Prescott missed a pick six, so that Washington came as close as 20:27. When they regained possession with 3:04 minutes left, a fumble ended their last hope for a comeback victory. The Cowboys stand at a 9-4 record, Washington at 6-7.

New Orleans Saints at New York Jets 30-9

The New Orleans Saints have ended their negative run of five straight losses. Quarterback Taysom Hill was particularly convincing on the run, getting into the end zone twice and completing 15 of his 21 passes for 175 yards. Running back Alvin Kamara also ran for 120 yards and a touchdown.

Jets quarterback Zach Wilson had no turnovers but completed only 19 of 42 passes for 202 yards. The running game was hardly present with a total of 78 yards. New Orleans preserves its playoff chances with a 6-7 record. The Jets, on the other hand, with their 3-10 record, no longer have a chance to make the postseason.

Seattle Seahawks at Houston Texans 33:13

The Texans got off to an ideal start, completing their first drive with a touchdown pass from David Mills to Brevin Jordan. However, they only added two field goals the rest of the game.

With 7:34 left in the game, the Seahawks made it 27-13 with a touchdown pass from Russell Wilson to Gerald Everett. When Rashaad Penny, who totalled 137 yards, ran in his second touchdown on the following drive, the game was finally decided.

Russell Wilson, the Seahawks’ quarterback, totalled 260 passing yards and two touchdown passes. Tyler Lockett was his favourite receiving station with 142 receiving yards. Texans playmaker David Mills delivered a strong game despite the loss with 331 passing yards and a touchdown pass. The Seahawks improve their record to 5-8, the Texans are 2-11.
