NFL: Bo Nix Involved in a Scuffle During Broncos Practice — “I Love It”

An unusual scene unfolded during the Denver Broncos’ practice. Quarterback Bo Nix got into a scuffle with a teammate and, as he himself said, enjoyed the scuffle.

Normally, NFL quarterbacks aren’t tackled hard during practice. But things were different earlier this week at the Denver Broncos’ training camp for Bo Nix.

The 26-year-old was sacked by pass rusher Nick Bonitto during a drill and then went after the defensive player. Nix grabbed one of Bonitto’s legs and pulled him out of a pile of players.

Bonitto was so angry that teammates had to hold him back afterward. A scuffle broke out between other offensive and defensive players.

Denver Broncos: Bo Nix is happy, the coaches are not

Normally, a quarterback isn’t supposed to be touched during practice. That’s why tensions ran high after Bonitto’s sack.

But Nix was in good spirits after the incident: “I love it. That’s football. It prepares me for the upcoming games. It’s a physical practice led by physical players. So it got intense, and we really had fun with it. Sometimes practice drags on in the summer, and the intensity picks up.”

Even though Nix quickly put the incident behind him, defensive coordinator Vance Joseph wasn’t happy with his players: “We don’t want anyone near Bo,” he made clear.
