The Cincinnati Bengals can continue to dream of a return to the Super Bowl. The team around quarterback Joe Burrow celebrates a commanding victory at the Buffalo Bills and is in the AFC Championship Game.
The Cincinnati Bengals can continue to dream of a second Super Bowl in a row.
Quarterback Joe Burrow’s team didn’t let the cold temperatures and snow in Buffalo stop them and defeated the Bills 27-10 (17-7) on Sunday night.
That means the Bills will face Chiefs next Sunday in the AFC Championship Game in Kansas City. “It’s going to be fun, two great guys, two great teams, two strong defenses,” Burrow said, looking ahead to the clash with the currently ailing Patrick Mahomes.
Burrow totalled 242 passing yards and threw for two touchdowns. The Bengals quarterback went without an interception.
Damar Hamlin back in the stadium
With his stats, Burrow eclipsed Bills quarterback Josh Allen, who totaled 264 yards but went without a touchdown and threw an interception.
It didn’t help the Bills that safety Damar Hamlin was back in the stadium for the first time since suffering a cardiac arrest on January 2 and gave the team emotional support.
Allen runs himself in for a touchdown
Touchdowns by tight end Hayden Hurts and wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase gave the Bengals the lead in the first quarter. In the second period, quarterback Allen put the Bills on the scoreboard with a rushing touchdown.
A field goal by Bengals kicker Evan McPherson made the halftime score 17-7.
After the break, the Bills cut it short with a field goal by kicker Tyler Bass before a touchdown by Begals running back and another field goal by McPherson made it the final score.
