NFL: Seattle Seahawks also lose to Washington Football Team – Defensive lineman manages monster play

The Seattle Seahawks have to accept another setback. Against the Washington Football Team the team around quarterback Russell Wilson lost with 15:17.

Landover/Munich – The Washington Football Team has preserved its chance of a second play-off appearance in a row.

Head coach Ron Rivera’s team narrowly prevailed 17-15 at home FedEx Field to improve its record to 5-6.

Curious play: Defensive lineman surprises with 80-yard run

But it was the visitors from Seattle who got off to the better start. Russell Wilson put the Seahawks in front in the first quarter with a 6-yard touchdown pass to receiver Gerald Everett.

Shortly before the half-time break, the football team took the lead, running back JD McKissic turned the score to 9:7.

This was followed by what was probably the most curious play of the NFL season: the Seahawks blocked the football team’s point-after touchdown. Defensive lineman Rasheem Green took the ball and carried the attempt 85 yards into the opponent’s end zone. Instead of one point for Washington, two points went into the Seahawks’ account.

Seattle Seahawks: Late comeback goes unrewarded

After a quick three-and-out by the Seattle offense, it was McKissic again who found his way into the Seahawks’ end zone.

The 17-9 lead lasted deep into the final quarter before the Seahawks finally picked up momentum. Wilson orchestrated a 96-yard drive in the final 140 seconds of the game and capped it off with a 32-yard touchdown to receiver Freddie Swain.

However, the ensuing two-point conversion was then intercepted by the Washington defence, handing Seattle its third straight loss.

Russell Wilson finished the game with 247 passing yards and two touchdowns. His counterpart Tyler Heinicke tallied 223 passing yards as well as a touchdown and an interception.

With a record of 3-8, the Seahawks now sit in last place in the NFC West. A playoff appearance seems a long way off.
