NFL: Dallas Cowboys back on track after win against New Orleans Saints – Taysom Hill throws four interceptions

With their eighth win of the season, the Dallas Cowboys underline their postseason ambitions. Dak Prescott and Co. deservedly won against the New Orleans Saints with 27:17.

New Orleans/Munich – The Dallas Cowboys underlined their ambitions to return to the playoffs with their eighth win of the season.

Star quarterback Dak Prescott’s side won 27-17 against the New Orleans Saints, helped by four interceptions from Saints playmaker Taysom Hill.

Dallas Cowboys: Spectacular touchdown by Tony Pollard

A touchdown from receiver Michael Gallup and two field goals from Brett Maher saw Dallas end the first half with a comfortable 13-7 lead.

The Saints were able to close the gap to three points again with their first drive in the third quarter, but moments later they conceded the next setback: Cowboys running back Tony Pollard ran in an impressive 58-yard touchdown to restore the old lead.

Cowboys at Saints: Turnover festival in the fourth quarter

In the last quarter the game developed into a turnover festival. After Prescott got carried away with an interception in a promising position, the Cowboys intercepted Hill’s second miss of the day just outside their own end zone.

The Saints’ next drive also ended with an interception, this time it was Trevon Diggs who intercepted a deep pass from Hill. With just under three minutes to go, Carlos Watkins capped off a strong performance by the Dallas defence with another interception, which the defensive lineman returned 29 yards to the opposing end zone.

A 70-yard touchdown pass to Deonte Harris brought New Orleans back within 17-27 in the closing minutes, but the Cowboys held on for a well-deserved win.

Dallas Cowboys: Next week against Washington

Dak Prescott finished the game with 238 passing yards, a touchdown as well as an interception. His counterpart Taysom Hill recorded 264 passing yards, 101 rushing yards (Saints’ best) and two touchdowns in addition to the four turnovers.

The Cowboys (8-4) face the Washington football team (5-6) next week. New Orleans (5-7) hosts the New York Jets (3-8) in Week 14.
