NFL: Clear thing! Kansas City Chiefs beat Denver Broncos in divisional duel

In a defensively dominated game, the Kansas City Chiefs clearly beat the Denver Broncos 22:9. Patrick Mahomes and Co. take an important step towards the playoffs with the win.

Munich – On the way to the playoffs, not every victory has to end in a spectacle.

That’s exactly what superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Co. experienced in the divisional duel against the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs’ defence took centre stage several times in their 22-9 win in the Sunday Night Game.

After an early lead through a touchdown run by Mahomes, the Chiefs defence made two interceptions against Broncos quarterback Teddy Bridgewater. Safety Daniel Sorensen provided the preliminary decision with a pick six nine minutes before the end of the game.

Mahomes’ mixed performance

With a touchdown pass to rookie running back Javonte Williams Bridgewater made it exciting again, but also cut his teeth on the Chiefs defence. In the end, the Broncos quarterback had 257 passing yards and one touchdown and two interceptions.

Mahomes, on the other hand, delivered a rather unfortunate game through the air by his standards – he ended up with 184 passing yards and also made an interception. But he managed the important touchdown run in the first quarter.

With the important win, the Chiefs defend their lead in the AFC West with eight wins and four losses. The Broncos are in third place with an even record of six wins and six losses, but remain within striking distance of the playoffs.
