Kansas City Chiefs rush to another win and celebrate two touchdown firsts

The Kansas City Chiefs remain on course for success in the NFL. In Week 10, the team around superstar Patrick Mahomes celebrates its seventh win of the season against the Jacksonville Jaguars, its third in a row

Munich – The Kansas City Chiefs extended their winning streak to three games with a must-win victory and cemented their lead in the AFC West.

The 2019 Super Bowl winners beat the Jacksonville Jaguars 27-17 (20-7) to extend their streak to 7-2. It was the seventh loss in the tenth appearance for the visitors from Florida.

Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco fumbled on the first drive in the red zone. But Patrick Mahomes finished the second drive with a six-yard pass to Kadarius Toney, who hopped into the end zone on one leg right on the sideline. It was the first career score for the receiver.

Valdes-Scantling with first touchdown of the season

For the Jaguars, Riley Patterson missed the first field goal attempt from 51 yards. Then, at the other end of the field, Marquez Valdes-Scantling followed up an 18-yard pass from Mahomes with his first touchdown of the season

A little later, JuJu Smith-Schuster was forced to go into Concussion Protocol after a heavy hit from Andre Cisco. However, a thrown yellow flag was taken back by the referee team.

Two scores and missed field goal in final minute

In the final minute of the first half things got really spectacular: First Noah Gray extended the lead with a touchdown catch for 13 yards, but Harrison Butker missed the extra point.

In return, Trevor Lawrence found Christian Kirk in the end zone for three yards, putting the visitors on the scoreboard. Another chance for points was missed by Patterson, who also failed to hit the bar from 41 yards out.

Kelce scores in the third quarter

The Jacksonville kicker did better in the third quarter with a 35-yard field goal. The Chiefs’ answer was Travis Kelce: Mahomes found his tight end for seven yards in the end zone.

On the next drive, Mahomes threw the ball into the arms of Cisco – interception! Kirk punished this directly with his second touchdown after a 19-yard pass from Lawrence.

In the end, however, the hosts managed to hold on to the ten-point lead. It was a special win for Head Coach Andy Reid – he now has 66 wins at Arrowhead Stadium like the legendary Marty Schottenheimer.

Mahomes delivers four touchdowns

Mahomes finished with 331 passing yards for four touchdowns with one interception as well as 39 rushing yards. Lawrence finished with 259 passing yards for two touchdowns and 26 rushing yards. Otherwise, Pacheco covered the most distance for the Chiefs with 82 rushing yards, while Kirk finished with 105 receiving yards for the Jaguars.

The Chiefs have an important divisional duel with the Los Angeles Chargers next weekend in the Sunday Night Game. The Jaguars, on the other hand, go into the bye week.
