NFL: Andy Reid – Chiefs coach not thinking about the end of his career

The Super Bowl is just over and the first speculations are already starting. What will happen to Andy Reid? Rumors are swirling around the successful coach of the Kansas City Chiefs. However, he is thinking about next season. The Chiefs have a clear goal: to become the first team in NFL history to win three Lombardi Trophies in a row

The Kansas City Chiefs beat the San Francisco 49ers to win their third Super Bowl since 2019. In a close match, the team led by superstar Patrick Mahomes wins the second final in a row. And spectacularly in overtime, with the clock running out. After such a success, the first speculation already breaks out. Who will remain owner Clark Hunt after the season?

Rumors are swirling around coach Andy Reid in particular. Is he now ending his career? If the 65-year-old remains in the NFL, it would be his 26th season as head coach.

After the overtime thriller, Reid commented on his future: “I mean, I’m still in awe of the game and what happened there, so I really haven’t thought about it.”

Reid already thinking about next season

Next season he could achieve something historic. Never before has a team won three Super Bowls in a row. “A great thing,” says Reid, who says he is not yet thinking too much about the next success.

“You go back to your darkroom and the movies and the draft and the Combine. All these things are what you focus on. You’re not talking about a three-peat. Well, some guys are. It would be great,” the successful coach continued.

According to Reid, the Chiefs are facing changes. They have to cope with them: “We’ll have changes in our team that every team has and you don’t know what’s there. There’s a lot of unpredictability and you have to fight through that and have a good offseason.”

So Andy Reid is already thinking about next season. The always well-informed NFL expert Ian Rapoport also confirms that Reid will remain in Kansas. Owner Clark also expects him to stay
