Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat Philadelphia Eagles – but Tom Brady and Co. have to tremble

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers around quarterback Tom Brady manage the next victory in the Thursday Night Game of the sixth NFL game day. But against the Philadelphia Eagles the team has to tremble more than expected.

Munich – Joy for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. At the start of the sixth NFL game day, the franchise managed its fifth win of the season. Tom Brady and his teammates had to tremble for a long time in the 28:22 at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia.

For a long time, the match looked like a clear affair. The visitors led 28-7 until shortly before the end of the third quarter, when two short touchdown runs by Leonard Fournette and touchdown passes from Brady to O.J. Howard and Antonio Brown gave the Bucs a comfortable lead.

Eagles almost make a comeback

Then, however, the Eagles ignited the turbo. After his touchdown pass to tight end Zach Ertz in the first period, quarterback Jalen Hurts ran into the end zone himself with just over two minutes left in the third quarter and cut the deficit to 14:28.

And the playmaker followed suit. In the middle of the last period, the 23-year-old ran for another touchdown. Because the two-point conversion was successful, the Eagles came within six points of the Super Bowl champions. A missed field goal by Eagles kicker Jake Elliott prevented the home side from scoring any more points.

Despite a late awakening by the Philly pros, it wasn’t enough for a win in the end.

Buccaneers lose Sherman

Bucs superstar Tom Brady completed 34 of 42 passes for 297 yards and two touchdowns, though he also threw an interception. His counterpart Jalen Hurts completed 12 of 26 passes for 115 yards, one touchdown and also one interception.

A bitter moment occurred for the Bucs right in the first quarter. With three-time All-Pro Richard Sherman, who was only recently signed by the team, another cornerback of the franchise had to miss the game due to injury. Tampa is already missing three starters in the secondary.

In addition, the champions made life difficult for themselves with a total of 120 penalty yards.
