San Francisco 49ers outclass Philadelphia Eagles, Rams spoil Joe Flacco’s comeback

The San Francisco 49ers dominate in the top game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Joe Flacco concedes defeat with the Cleveland Browns at the Los Angeles Rams. And the Carolina Panthers remain unsuccessful despite their best efforts.

San Francisco 49ers @ Philadelphia Eagles 42:19

In the top game between two teams that have legitimate hopes of finishing first in the NFC, the San Francisco 49ers won by a surprisingly wide margin.

The Eagles got off to the better start, conceding no points in the first quarter and scoring two field goals themselves. However, the 49ers then took control of the game. They scored four touchdowns in the second and third periods, while the Eagles only got into the end zone once in this time span

Brock Purdy, the 49ers’ quarterback, threw for a strong 314 yards and four touchdown passes while committing no turnovers. Wide receiver Deebo Samuel caught two touchdown passes. Running back Christian McCaffrey rushed for 133 yards and a touchdown. Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts recorded 298 yards, one touchdown pass and one rushing touchdown.

The 49ers are on a record of nine wins and three losses, while the Eagles still have first place in the NFL in their own hands with a record of 10-2.

Cleveland Browns @ Los Angeles Rams 19:36

The Los Angeles Rams celebrate their third win in a row and get back into the fight for the playoffs. The Browns closed the gap to 19-20 with a touchdown with 8:49 minutes remaining, but then missed the extra point. The Rams, on the other hand, completed the next two drives with further touchdowns to complete the triumph.

Two-time Super Bowl winner Joe Flacco, who only signed a contract with the Browns at the end of November and was now making his comeback, threw for 254 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford totaled 279 passing yards and three touchdown passes. The most effective pass receiver was once again Puka Nacua with 105 receiving yards and a touchdown.

The Rams now stand at a 6-6 record, while the Browns have a 7-5 record.

Carolina Panthers @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers 18-21

The Carolina Panthers remain the most unsuccessful team in the NFL. However, their second win of the season could have been possible in this game. The Panthers took a 10:7 lead in the third quarter and would not be shaken off as the game progressed. Chuba Hubbard ran in his second touchdown with five minutes to go, allowing the Panthers to close the gap to 18:21. However, when the Panthers regained possession of the ball later on, quarterback Bryce Young threw an interception.

The No. 1 pick in the 2023 NFL Draft struggled in general, completing just 15 of his 31 passes for 178 yards. Baker Mayfield, the quarterback from Tampa Bay, recorded 202 yards, one touchdown and one interception. The Buccaneers are now 5-7 on the season, while the Panthers are 1-11
