NFL – Major Trade Imminent: Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams

This is a huge surprise: Myles Garrett is reportedly set to leave the Cleveland Browns and join the Los Angeles Rams. LA is paying a hefty price for this.

The deal is causing a seismic shift in the NFL! As NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero report, a mega-trade is about to be finalized.

According to the reports, the Cleveland Browns are finalizing a trade that will send superstar Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams.

In return, the Browns are expected to receive Pro Bowl edge rusher Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2028 second-round pick, and a 2029 third-round pick.

Myles Garrett: Contract extended only until 2025

“Nothing has been finalized at this point. We are in discussions about a potential deal that includes him. I’ll be able to say a lot more about it once everything is finalized—if it happens at all. Then I’ll also explain the details,” said Browns GM Andrew Berry at a charity event when the news about Garrett broke.

“We are currently in negotiations. We hope to reach an agreement within the next few hours. But nothing is final yet,“ he said.

Garrett, the current ”Defensive Player of the Year,” had already requested a trade in 2025. However, in March 2025, he ultimately agreed to a four-year, $160 million contract extension with the Browns.

Los Angeles Rams in “Win-Now Mode”

But on-field success eluded him: He missed the playoffs in seven of his nine seasons. The Browns finished the past season with a disappointing 5-12 record.

Garrett was selected by the Browns as the first overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, and in 2023 and 2025, he was named the league’s best defensive player. He has recorded 412 tackles, along with 125.5 quarterback sacks, 23 forced fumbles, and six recovered fumbles, one of which led to a touchdown. Last season, Garrett set an NFL record with 23 sacks and led the league in tackles for loss (33). The 30-year-old has been selected for the Pro Bowl seven times.

With the Rams, he joins a team that fell to the eventual Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks in last season’s Championship Game.

But LA is also in “win-now mode” for 2026. The Rams are dreaming of a title in their own stadium. The 2027 Super Bowl will be held at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, the Rams’ home field.
