New Orleans Saints: Tight end Foster Moreau diagnosed with tumour during mandatory medical check

Tight end Foster Moreau, who was supposed to sign with the New Orleans Saints, was diagnosed with a malignant tumour during his mandatory medical. As a result, the 25-year-old ended his career for the time being.

Actually, a medical check in the NFL, as in other professional sports, is just a formality.

In the case of Foster Moreau, however, that medical check may have saved the player’s life.

The tight end was supposed to sign a contract with the New Orleans Saints, but during the medical examination he was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma, a malignant tumour.

Moreau combative: “Will fight this new opponent “

He made the announcement himself on Twitter. “I will turn my back on football for now to fight this new opponent. Thank you to the hundreds of people who have supported me and still do,” the former Las Vegas Raider said.

However, he didn’t want to give up on his career completely. “I’m going to kick this thing’s butt and get back to doing what I love!”

His chances are relatively good: although Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a malignant tumour, the chances of a cure are around 80 per cent if it is detected at an early stage, according to the German Cancer Society.

Moreau has played for the Raiders since 2019, collecting 91 catches for 1,107 yards and 12 touchdowns in 61 career games.
