In the third Thanksgiving game of the NFL, the San Francisco 49ers celebrate a victory against division rival Seattle Seahawks, with one player in particular shining
Division victory for the San Francisco 49ers. The team led by quarterback Brock Purdy defeated the Seattle Seahawks 31:13 in the last NFL game on Thanksgiving.
Running back Christian McCaffrey was once again instrumental in the Niners’ success, with 114 rushing yards, 25 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Especially in the first half, CMC showed an explosive performance and found himself in the end zone twice, giving his franchise a 21-point lead at the break.
What’s more: Before McCaffrey could even get going, Deebo Samuel had given the visitors an early lead with a rushing touchdown on their very first drive.
The hosts from Seattle – apart from a field goal – had little reason to celebrate. This changed in the second half when 49ers playmaker Purdy threw an interception in the third quarter, which was carried back into the end zone by Jordyn Brooks for a pick six.
Any hopes of a comeback by the home side were dashed in the final period, however, when San Francisco got on the scoreboard again after a 28-yard touchdown pass from Purdy to wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk.
Seahawks weaken on offense
The Niners quarterback completed 21 of 30 passes for 209 yards, a touchdown and an interception, while his counterpart completed 18 of 27 passes for 180 yards and an interception. He did not score a touchdown.
In any case, the Seahawks have only scored three offensive touchdowns in their last four games, three of which were losses.
With a record of 8-3, the 49ers are at the top of the NFC West, while the Seahawks are right behind them with six wins and five losses.
