Season-opening defensive spectacle : Dominant Buffalo Bills take apart Los Angeles Rams

The Buffalo Rams disenchant the reigning Super Bowl champion Los Angeles Rams and win the season-opening summit clash in dominant fashion. The Bills’ defence takes the Rams to the cleaners and offensively Josh Allen proves why he is considered a candidate for the MVP title.

Munich/Los Angeles – The Buffalo Rams have lived up to their role as favourites in the season opener.

Quarterback Josh Allen’s team easily beat the reigning Super Bowl winners Los Angeles Rams 31-10, with Leslie Frazier’s defence in particular making the Rams’ offence look old.

Quarterback Allen led his Bills on a perfect first drive down the field and threw the first touchdown of the season to receiver Gabe Davis. Only thanks to two interceptions and a fumble by the Bills did the home side get into the game and Matt Stafford found Cooper Kupp in the end zone. The score was 10-10 going into the half-time break.

After the break, however, the situation was quickly clarified. The Buffalo Bills’ defence almost completely shut down Stafford and Co. and turned SoFi Stadium into the “Bills House”. They brought down the Rams quarterback seven times with sacks and caught three interceptions.

On the other side, Josh Allen made up for his mistakes from the first half and led three consecutive drives into the end zone. In the end the quarterback stood at 293 passing yards, four touchdowns and was also the best runner of his team with 57 rushing yards. Stefon Diggs (122 yards) and Davis (88 yards) also made star cornerback Jalen Ramsey’s nightmare.

The Bills confirmed their rightful claim to a Super Bowl run of their own in impressive style.
