NFL: German O-lineman Felix Lepper invited to rookie mini camps by two teams

After Marlin Klein and Paul Rubelt, another German can dream of making the big leap after the 2026 NFL Draft. O-lineman Felix Lepper was invited to mini camps by two teams.

For two Germans, the big dream of the NFL came true in the 2026 draft.

The Houston Texans sensationally selected tight end Marlin Klein in the second round. Although Paul Rubelt’s name was not read out within the seven rounds, the offensive lineman was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers shortly afterwards.

And that’s not all. Another player from Germany can also hope to play in the best football league in the world in the coming season.

O-lineman Felix Lepper has not yet received a contract, but is allowed to audition for two teams as part of the rookie minicamps: the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Giants.

This was announced by “Gridiron Imports”. The organization around former NFL star Björn Werner enables young football players to make the leap to the USA.

NFL: Felix Lepper is part of the International Player Pathway program

The 23-year-old also has a good chance of earning a roster spot in the NFL, at least on the practice squad.

Unlike Klein and Rubelt, Lepper did not play in college, but is part of the International Player Pathway program (IPP).

He would also not block an extra spot on the practice squad through the program, which includes a total of 13 players from ten countries in 2026. The teams in question receive an additional 17th IPP spot.

The big man last played in Germany for the Hamburg Sea Devils in the ELF.
