NFL Frankfurt Games to bring in up to 80 million euros in revenue

The NFL is coming to Frankfurt in November. Mayor Mike Josef now explains what is planned around the games and reveals what revenue he expects

The big NFL party is coming to Frankfurt in about four months. On 5 November, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Miami Dolphins will face each other, and a week later the New England Patriots will meet the Kansas City Chiefs.

Frankfurt’s mayor Mike Josef is hoping for a lot from this, as he explained to “beimfootball.de”.

NFL in Frankfurt: City expects revenue of 30 to 40 million euros per weekend

“We firmly believe that it will be economically viable, which pleases us. The basics are of course the figures in Munich, but also in London, where between 30 and 40 million euros were spent on a weekend in the value chain, especially for overnight stays and food,” said Josef.

The 40-year-old also spoke about the programme that awaits football fans on the Main. For example, a fan mile is being prepared, the “focus of which will be on the Roßmarkt”. In addition, teams will also “occupy their pubs”, and last but not least there will be autograph sessions, receptions, merchandise stands and many smaller events.
