Monday Night Football: Baltimore Ravens have no problems against the New Orleans Saints

Baltimore Ravens beat New Orleans Saints 27-13 in Monday Night Football game for third straight win

Munich, Germany – The Baltimore Ravens defeated the New Orleans Saints 27-13 in the Monday Night Football game for their third straight win.

Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely put the first points on the scoreboard. The rookie caught a 24-yard pass from fellow quarterback Lamar Jackson to give Baltimore its first touchdown.

Drake with first touchdown

The Saints failed to score in the first quarter and then were forced to concede their next touchdown with 2 minutes left in the game. Baltimore’s running back Kenyan Drake ran from the redzone untouched into the end zone – the Ravens went up 14-0.

But before the break, New Orleans also registered – but only in the person of Will Lutz, who gave the Saints their first three points with a field goal.

Dalton with problems

In the third quarter, both teams managed only a field goal. The Saints, who had to cope with the loss of centre Erik McCoy during the game, got into the redzone but either quarterback Andy Dalton was sacked or simply couldn’t find a pickup in the end zone. And when he did, he usually overthrew them. So it went into the last quarter at 17:6 for the Ravens.

The Saints had to bury all their comeback dreams in the final quarter after Justin Tucker kicked another field goal for the Ravens and then Ravens linebacker Justin Houston caught a deflected interception from Dalton.

Kamara not a factor

In the aftermath, Drake put the lid on with his second rushing touchdown. The Saints did indeed get another touchdown at the end through Juwan Johnson, but by then the game had long been decided.

The Ravens put in a strong performance against the Saints, thanks in part to Drake and Houston, and now remain atop the AFC North with a 6-3 record despite missing star tight end Mark Andrews and running back Gus Edwards, among others.

The Saints, on the other hand, are now third in the NFC South at 3-6. They just couldn’t get their star running back Alvin Kamara into the game.
