Derek Carr leads the Las Vegas Raiders to their sixth win on Thanksgiving with his sixth 300-yard game. For the Dallas Cowboys, the second loss in a row has consequences.
Munich/Arlington – The Las Vegas Raiders scored an important victory on Thanksgiving in the fight for a playoff spot.
The team around quarterback Derek Carr won somewhat surprisingly at the Dallas Cowboys with 36:33 (17:13) after overtime. With the win, the Raiders now have a record of 6 wins and 5 losses and are just behind the places 1 to 7 in the AFC, which are necessary for a play-off participation at the end of the season.
For the Cowboys it was a setback in the race for the best starting position in the NFC. Dak Prescott and his men now move to 7-4 after their second straight loss and rank fourth, two losses behind the top-ranked Arizona Cardinals.
NFL: Carr and Jackson shine for Raiders
For the Raiders, DeSean Jackson stood out alongside quarterback Derek Carr, who passed for 300 yards for the sixth time in the sixth win. The veteran gave Las Vegas an early lead with a 56-yard touchdown catch.
Kicker Daniel Carlson scored the decisive points with a 29-yard field goal in overtime after Greg Zuerlein had kicked the Cowboys’ field goal to send Dallas into extra time just before the end of regulation.
For the Cowboys, running back Tony Pollard provided a highlight with a return touchdown, but it was not enough to win the game.
