Seattle Seahawks: Offensive coordinator calls for more targets for D.K. Metcalf

Seahawks offensive coordinator Shane Waldron has called for D.K. Metcalf to get more targets again. Previously, Russ Wilson had already advocated for this.

Munich/Seattle – Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Shane Waldron has advocated for wide receiver D.K. Metcalf to get more targets in the game again.

Waldron, speaking about Metcalf on “ESPN”, said, “We need to get him the ball more often. We’re going to continue to work on that and not make excuses for things that happen in the game. We’ve got to get that right. “

Currently hardly any targets for the Elite Receiver

Metcalf wasn’t targeted at all in the first half during Monday’s loss to the Washington football team. He finished with one total caught ball for 13 yards on four targets, by far his worst total since his rookie season in 2019.

Metcalf had put up 77 receiving yards per game through the first seven games of the current season, while also scoring six touchdowns. Since game eight, those numbers dwindled to just 28 receiving yards per game and 2 touchdowns. In the last three games, Metcalf has failed to record a score at all.

Wilson also comments

Quarterback Russell Wilson had already made similar comments immediately after the game. He had also called for Metcalf to be more involved and reported that the Seahawks had designed as many as nine plays that saw Metcalf as a target. However, none of those plays had worked.

The Seahawks are 3-8 after eleven games and in last place in the NFC West.
