Packers don’t let Chiefs slow them down: Hail Mary fails – Love delivers again

The Green Bay Packers continue their pursuit of a playoff spot. Thanks to another strong performance by Jordan Love, the team from Wisconsin also wins against the Kansas City Chiefs

The Super Bowl champions continue to stumble. The 19:27 (6:14) loss to the Green Bay Packers in the Sunday Night Game of Week 13 was the third defeat in the last five games for the Kansas City Chiefs.

The game remained exciting until the final second, when none of the visitors’ receivers managed to catch Patrick Mahomes’ Hail Mary. The two-time MVP had already ended the Chiefs drive with an interception, the egg landing in the hands of Keisean Nixon.

Mahomes threw 210 yards for a touchdown to Noah Gray, adding 26 yards on the ground. The Chiefs’ other scores came from Isaiah Pacheco, who totaled 110 rushing yards on a run, and the flawless Harrison Butker with two field goals and a PAT.

However, the two-point conversion after the first touchdown failed. Travis Kelce caught four balls for 81 yards in front of pop star Taylor Swift.

Jordan Love led his team to three touchdowns – all through the air – and amassed 267 passing yards, topped off by ten rushing yards.

Christian Watson accounted for two of those scores (seven catches for 71 receiving yards, plus 15 rushing yards), while Ben Sims successfully completed the opening drive with his only catch for one yard.

Packers beat Chiefs and clinch playoff spot

In the final quarter, Anders Carlson, who sank all three PATs, secured the lead with two field goals.

Romeo Doubs delivered more receiving yards than Watson, who injured his thigh in the final quarter, with four catches for 72 yards. AJ Dillon covered 73 rushing yards on 18 runs.

On defense, Quay Walker stood out with 13 tackles, while Justin Reid had ten for “KC”.

It was the third win in a row for “the Pack” and the fourth in the last five games. Thanks to a 6-6 record, Green Bay would currently be in the playoffs – as number seven in the NFC.

The Chiefs, for their part, slip to 8-4, but remain fourth in the conference as leaders of the AFC West.

The defending champions continue next weekend in the later Sunday slot with a home game against the Buffalo Bills. The Packers host the New York Giants in Week 14 as part of the Monday Night Doubleheader.
