NFL: Super Bowl winner arrested – threat of heavy fine

Alshon Jeffery was arrested earlier this week for insurance fraud. The 2017 Super Bowl winner has since been released.

Jeffery won the Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles almost ten years ago. Now the portal “TMZ” reports that the wide receiver has been arrested on several charges.

In addition to insurance fraud, Jeffery was also arrested for concealing or failing to disclose insurance benefits or payments.

NFL: Jeffery faces imprisonment or fines

The 36-year-old was taken to jail at around 8am on Wednesday and has since been released. No further details on the arrest are available to “TMZ” at this time.

Under California law, the charge of insurance fraud is considered a felony and can be punishable by up to five years in prison or a fine of twice the amount of the fraud.

Super Bowl with the Philadelphia Eagles

Jeffery played college football for the South Carolina Gamecocks and was named an All-American selection in 2010. He was drafted in the second round by the Chicago Bears in 2012.

He won Super Bowl LII with the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017 and finished his career in 2020. South Carolina has not issued his back number to another player since 2023.
