NFL: Gambling Policy Violation — Cardinals Scout Suspended

The NFL has suspended Arizona Cardinals head of personnel Ryan Gold indefinitely for violating the league’s gambling policy.

The NFL announced on Friday that Ryan Gold, director of player personnel for the Arizona Cardinals, had disclosed confidential insider information about the Cardinals’ 2026 draft picks before they were made public.

The league did not specify to whom the information was disclosed. Gold also participated in parlay bets on NFL and college games.

“The gambling policy, which is reviewed annually with all NFL employees, strictly prohibits anyone in the NFL from participating in or facilitating sports betting of any kind, as well as from providing non-public information to third parties,” the NFL stated in a release.

While there is no reason to believe that the “integrity of an NFL game was compromised,” the league nevertheless takes any violation of the gambling policy extremely seriously.

NFL: Cardinals Leaked Insider Information

The Arizona Cardinals stated in their release that they fully support the NFL’s decision and emphasized that this case involves only a single employee. “Our focus remains on our preparations and the 2026 season,” the statement continued.

The NFL also stated that the Cardinals had cooperated fully and that there was no evidence that other members of the organization, coaches, or players were aware of or involved in these events.
