The upcoming wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce will take place in what is arguably the world’s most legendary sports arena. The celebrations will begin on July 2 and last for several days.
It was to be expected that the wedding of pop star Taylor Swift and Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce would be a huge spectacle. As has now been confirmed, the couple will tie the knot in New York.
And not just anywhere, but at the legendary Madison Square Garden. According to the “New York Times,” Swift has rented the arena from July 2 through July 4.
Calais Campbell’s mother is said to have been murdered by his brother
A security official at “MSG” confirmed to the newspaper that the event is planned to last several days.
However, the official also pointed out the confidentiality agreed upon for this event and could not be persuaded to reveal any further details.
Swift and Kelce’s wedding with nearly 1,000 guests?
New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani took the same line, having previously announced a “major event” at MSG for which the city was “fully prepared.” “There’s nothing more to announce at this time,” he added.
The “Times” also reports that a request was submitted to the City of New York to close the streets around Madison Square Garden from July 2 through noon on July 4.
According to the report, an event with 100 people is planned for July 2, and around 1,000 guests are expected the following day.
Preparations have already begun
New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch confirmed “that a detailed plan exists,” but said she would not go into detail.
“ESPN” is now reporting that several trucks arrived in Manhattan during the week and made a number of preparations.
Among other things, a huge carpet is said to have already been rolled out and then packed away again.
Chiefs players likely on site
In addition, several Kansas City Chiefs players have reportedly booked hotel rooms at the “Marriott Marquis” in Times Square for July 3.
Furthermore, police officers responsible for the New York-based rail company Amtrak are said to have been informed that the couple’s wedding is expected to take place that weekend.
