The Jacksonville Jaguars lose to the Cincinnati Bengals 21-24 in the Thursday Night Game. After the game, Urban Meyer, Head Coach of the Jags, is marked by the loss, but also optimistic.
Munich/Cincinnati – A field goal by Evan McPherson sealed the 21:24 defeat of the Jacksonville Jaguars against the Cincinnati Bengals in the Thursday Night Game.
Urban Meyer, Head Coach of the Jaguars, was frustrated after the close and avoidable defeat.
Bengals loss “heartbreaking” for Meyer
“It’s heartbreaking. It’s a broken-hearted locker room, so we’ve got to get it back,” the coach expressed after the match.
In fact, more was possible for his team, the 14-0 lead at half-time did not bring the confidence they had hoped for. Instead, Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow turned up the heat in the second and led his team to victory.
The Florida franchise has been waiting for this kind of success for more than a year now, and the defeat against Cincinnati was their 19th loss in a row. According to Meyer, however, this negative series will soon come to an end.
Jaguars-HC Meyer believes in wins
“Usually I’m not wrong with something like that, I just see a good team in there. I see good guys, good hearts and guys that work hard. And I told them I’m not wrong. This team is going to win some games,” the 57-year-old struck a more confident note.
Meyer, rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence and Co. will have a chance to improve their 0-4 record on 10 October. Then the Tennessee Titans will be in Jacksonville.
