Los Angeles Chargers: No rib fracture for quarterback Justin Herbert

The Los Angeles Chargers are worried about quarterback Justin Herbert after their loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. Now head coach Brandon Staley has given an update.

Munich/Kansas City – Quarterback Justin Herbert of the Los Angeles Chargers suffered a rib injury in the fourth quarter of their 24-27 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.

The playmaker hit the ground hard after a hit from defensive end Mike Danna and had to be treated for several minutes.

Chargers: Herbert back at practice next week?

“It’s okay. It was a tough game,” commented Head Coach Brandon Staley following the divisional duel. The playmaker, who returned to the field, went to X-ray immediately after the Thursday Night Game.

On Friday night, Staley gave an update on Herbert’s injury. The quarterback suffered a fractured rib cartilage and could return to practice as early as next week, according to Staley. The head coach indicated that this would be better than a broken bone. So the Chargers can breathe a sigh of relief.
