German NFL kicker Dominik Eberle with workout with New England Patriots

Dominik Eberle has been plagued by health problems lately. Currently, the German NFL kicker is looking for a new team again and reveals on Mike Stiefelhagen’s Twitch channel how his workout went with the New England Patriots

Munich – Dominik Eberle is currently a free agent and looking for a new NFL team. The German kicker had to end his commitment with the Green Bay Packers due to health problems.

The 26-year-old was previously active with the Carolina Panthers, Houston Texans and Las Vegas Raiders.

As he reveals in a conversation with Mike Stiefelhagen on his Twitch channel “MikeLS_91” he was invited by the New England Patriots to a workout: “I was with the Patriots on Friday and had a good workout there. They have (Nick) Folk, but if anything happens, they have my number too.”

“I live in Phoenix and had to fly a total of 14 hours to Boston. After a quick meal, we got right into it and I got to do eight kicks. That was it. Then there was a medical check. It all happened very quickly,” the Nuremberg-born player revealed.

Eberle on the process of an NFL kicker at a tryout: “You already feel a pressure. You usually only have 8-15 kicks to convince and if it doesn’t fit, you can leave again. Sometimes you have a really good day and get 10/11 kicks, but then it can happen that the guy next to you gets 11/11 kicks and then they tell you: ‘Too bad, it wasn’t enough’ and then you part ways again.

Whether the German kicker convinced the Patriots remains to be seen – because the competition is fierce. Besides Eberle, the Patriots have invited three other kickers – Jose Borregales, Cameron Dicker and Brian Johnson – to audition. Through multiple sneak peeks and tryouts, Eberle now knows a lot of teams, which pays off privately when playing NFL Fantasy Manager:

“I’m always pretty good in NFL Fantasy. Last year, when I was with the Panthers, I knew exactly what the game plan was and who got the balls. So I just drafted the right ones. “
