Buffalo Bills beat Miami Dolphins to reach playoffs

In the snowdrift of Buffalo, the home Bills manage a victory against the Miami Dolphins. Quarterback Josh Allen’s franchise also clinches a playoff berth in the process

Munich – The Buffalo Bills have become the next team in the NFL to make the playoffs. Head coach Sean McDermott’s squad beat the Miami Dolphins 32-29 and, with a record of 11-3, can no longer be ousted from the postseason.

This was made possible by a comeback in the last quarter. The Dolphins led by eight points with just under twelve minutes to go before Dawson Knox caught a touchdown pass from Bills quarterback Josh Allen and also managed the subsequent two-point conversion – a run by the playmaker himself – to tie the game.

With the clock running down, kicker Tyler Bass made a field goal to clinch the play-off ticket for his team.

The feared snow chaos did not materialise for a long time at Highmark Stadium, with the snow and wind only making life difficult for the teams in the final period. The hosts coped much better with the unpleasant weather conditions and kept the ball in their hands for the final six minutes before capping off their drive with the decisive field goal to win the game.

Browns beat Ravens without Lamar Jackson

Bills signal-caller Josh Allen turned in a bearish performance in the game, completing 25 of 40 passes for 304 yards and four touchdowns. His counterpart Tua Tagovailoa recorded 234 passing yards and two touchdowns, including a 67-yard pass to Jaylen Waddle.

Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns were also able to celebrate a victory. With a 13-3 win over the Baltimore Ravens, the franchise around quarterback Deshaun Watson keeps its playoff chances alive. The Ravens, who were again without Lamar Jackson, were particularly weak in the red zone and have suffered a setback in the battle for the AFC North.
