In a fireworks display, the Dallas Cowboys beat the Seattle Seahawks 41-35. However, the Seahawks’ final offensive play caused confusion for Cowboys star Parsons.
The Seattle Seahawks and Dallas Cowboys delivered a spectacle to kick off game day 13. Head coach Mike McCarthy’s team won 41:35 in an open exchange of blows.
However, the Seahawks’ final offensive play caused confusion.
After the game, Parsons commented on the key play: “I don’t think it’s a good plan to not block me. Even if the plan was for the running back to block me, it would have been unclever,” said the pass rusher.
What happened?
The Seahawks needed two yards for a new first down on fourth down. The Cowboys’ defense lined up a series of pass rushers at the line of scrimmage.
Parsons on the play: “Not a good plan “
The Seahawks wanted to quickly throw the ball to running back DeeJay Dallas, who was supposed to steal through the pressure and out of the backfield. The play didn’t call for Micah Parsons, the star of the Cowboys defense, to be blocked.
However, Parsons ignited the turbo on the snap and was already on Geno Smith’s feet before he could throw the ball to Dallas, who was not yet in good position. An incompletion followed and the Cowboys wrapped up the win.
