J.J. Watt has now ended his career as a professional, and the future of the three-time Defensive Player of the Year apparently now lies in TV. But there are still a few questions unanswered.
What’s next for J.J. Watt after the end of his active career?
After a total of twelve years in the NFL, the 34-year-old ended his professional career after last season, which brought him five nominations for the Pro Bowl and three times the award for the best defensive player of a season.
Now there are indications that Watt is following the path of some prominent colleagues and taking on a role as a TV pundit. According to the “New York Post”, he has received several offers, but a job with the “CBS” channel seems the most likely. The channel will broadcast next year’s Super Bowl in the USA.
Watt doesn’t want a full-time job
However, there are still some unanswered questions to be clarified. Watt, for example, is said to have no interest in a full-time job, moreover he is not to replace any of the established experts around former quarterback Tony Romo. Instead, he is to be part of the pre-game show at the Super Bowl and also get a few more appearances during the season.
In addition to “CBS”, “NBC” and the “NFL Network” also showed interest in Watt.
