Update, July 22, 6:08 a.m.: Dolphins Extend Contract with Defensive Mainstay

The Miami Dolphins have extended a contract with their next star: Linebacker Jordyn Brooks has signed a new three-year deal, his agent confirmed to “ESPN.”

The new contract will pay Brooks $51.3 million, with $35 million guaranteed. This propels him to sixth place on the list of the highest-paid linebackers.

Brooks was selected to the All-Pro team last season, racking up a whopping 183 tackles.

Update, July 21, 7:50 a.m.: Packers retain starter

Contract extension with the Green Bay Packers. The “Cheeseheads” have secured their future with another starter, agreeing to a new contract with defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt.

Wyatt signed a three-year deal worth $57 million, including a $20 million signing bonus. His agency, “Win Sports Group,” confirmed this to “NFL Network.”

The Packers selected the 28-year-old with the 28th overall pick in the 2022 draft and exercised the option for his fifth year on his contract last year.

Last season, he was unable to help the Packers as much as he would have liked; he missed seven games due to injury and suffered a fibula fracture and torn ligaments in his ankle during the Thanksgiving game against the Detroit Lions, which ended his season.

“I personally know that I have a lot more to offer,” Wyatt said after last season. “I feel like I have a lot more to offer than I’ve shown this year or over the past three years.”

So far, he has not participated in any Packers offseason training sessions.

Update, July 19, 12:15 p.m.: San Francisco 49ers sign new punter to the league

Jack Bouwmeester has signed a three-year contract with the San Francisco 49ers. The undrafted punter enters the NFL after playing a total of 53 college games for Michigan State, Utah, and Texas since 2019. During that time, the Australian native kicked 213 punts and covered 9,338 yards.

At the same time, the 49ers placed tight end Khalil Dinkins on the Active/Non-Football Injury List. The rookie also went undrafted.

In addition to Bouwmeester, the 49ers have another punter under contract: Corliss Waitman. The 30-year-old entered the NFL in 2021 and has played 52 games so far for the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos. He signed a one-year contract in March.

Update, June 16, 5:57 a.m.: New Orleans Saints meet with franchise legend

Defensive end Cam Jordan has been a free agent since March; the New Orleans Saints had initially planned not to extend his contract.

Now, however, things could take a turn: As reported by “nola.com” and confirmed by his former teammate Terron Armstead, both sides will meet on Tuesday to discuss a new contract.

The 36-year-old is a true Saints legend. Over 15 seasons, he has recorded 132 sacks, including 10.5 last season alone.

Update, June 12, 10:15 a.m.: Dolphins Award Offensive Mainstay a Top Contract

A top contract for one of the best centers in the NFL: Aaron Brewer, a finalist for the inaugural “Protector of the Year” award, has agreed to a contract extension with the Miami Dolphins, the franchise announced.

The center is signing a three-year deal worth $52.5 million, $37 million of which is guaranteed.

Brewer was entering the final season of his contract—with a base salary of $1.22 million, even though he is now among the best players at his position.

Under his new contract, he will earn $17.5 million per year, placing him third among the NFL’s highest-paid centers. Only Tyler Linderbaum of the Las Vegas Raiders and Chiefs star Creed Humphrey earn more.

Brewer, now 28, began his career in 2020 as an undrafted free agent with the Tennessee Titans and has appeared in 33 of 34 games since joining the Dolphins two years ago.

Update, June 9, 7:26 a.m.: Kansas City Chiefs bring back L’Jarius Sneed

The Kansas City Chiefs are bolstering their secondary with a familiar face. Cornerback L’Jarius Sneed is returning to Kansas City.

The deal is for one year. According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, Sneed could earn up to $5 million.

For the Chiefs, this marks a reunion with a player who was once one of the cornerstones of Steve Spagnuolo’s defense. Sneed began his NFL career in 2020 as a fourth-round pick of the Chiefs.

In Kansas City, he quickly developed from a versatile nickelback into a starter. With the Chiefs, Sneed won two Super Bowls and was a key part of the secondary for years.

Sneed delivered consistently, especially during his last three years with the Chiefs. During that span, he recorded 262 tackles, 33 passes defended, seven interceptions, 4.5 sacks, and four forced fumbles.

These achievements caught the attention of the Tennessee Titans in 2024. The Chiefs traded Sneed at that time, and shortly afterward, he signed a lucrative four-year contract with Tennessee.

However, the move did not turn out to be the success story both sides had hoped for. Sneed struggled with health issues while with the Titans, particularly a persistent thigh injury.

After two disappointing years, he was released in March. Now he’s getting a new chance where his career has gone best so far.

Update, June 4, 1:56 p.m.: New Contract for Steelers Star

The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed tight end Darnell Washington to a new contract.

The contract for the 2023 draft pick is worth $10.5 million annually over four years, with $21 million guaranteed.

Although Washington had only one touchdown catch in each of the past two years, he is one of the best blockers in the league and a reliable target for Aaron Rodgers.
