The Denver Broncos parted ways with head coach Nathaniel Hackett on Monday night German time.
The 14:51 debacle against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday was Hackett’s undoing.

This means the franchise missed the playoffs for the seventh year in a row.
Broncos Owner Penner: “Our fans deserve better “
“After extensive discussions with George and our ownership group, we have concluded that realignment is ultimately in the best interest of the Broncos,” Co-Owner Greg Penner said in a statement:
“This change has been made now out of respect for all involved and allows us to begin the search for a new head coach immediately.”
Penner further stated, “We will make whatever changes are necessary to restore the winning tradition of this franchise. Our fans deserve better. “
Broncos: Russell Wilson disappointing so far
Star quarterback Russell Wilson, signed by the Seattle Seahawks with high hopes before the season, has disappointed so far and never found his form in Colorado. That, too, is likely to reflect on Hackett
Hackett was only hired in January, making him the coach with the shortest tenure in Broncos history. The 43-year-old had previously spent three years as offensive coordinator with the Green Bay Packers.
It is unclear who will now take over as head coach. The Broncos have to play the AFC West champion Kansas City Chiefs on New Year’s Day.
