Zach Wilson ignored symptoms: Jets QB tried to play with concussion

Zach Wilson reportedly tried to stay on the field during the New York Jets’ loss to the Miami Dolphins despite symptoms of a concussion.

Zach Wilson’s mother took to Instagram to talk about her son trying to stay on the field during Sunday’s NFL clash with the Miami Dolphins despite symptoms of a concussion.

According to the report, Wilson concealed his problems to avoid having to go through the concussion protocol. “Zach took some really hard hits. He fought through it and just tried to stay on the field,” said Lisa Wilson: “He didn’t want to go out, he didn’t want to stop playing – so he didn’t tell the coaches how he was really feeling.”

Wilson was apparently struggling with vision problems. The Dolphins managed four sacks against him. “After another hit to the head, he really started having problems with blurred vision and his depth perception,” the mother explained. Which is why he ended up walking off the field.

Whether he will be available for Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders is unclear. He could be replaced by Trevor Siemian. Aaron Rodgers is likely to return to the squad but is not expected to play.
