Minnesota Vikings at Buffalo Bills 33:30 after overtime

The Minnesota Vikings came out on top against the Buffalo Bills after a completely crazy final period in overtime. Quarterback Kirk Cousins threw for 357 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. Dalvin Cook rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown and Justin Jefferson caught passes for 193 yards and a touchdown.

After the score was 24-10 in favour of the Bills at halftime, Minnesota turned it on after the break. With just 4:34 minutes left, the Vikings got as close as 23-27 on a touchdown run by C.J. Ham. With 44 seconds left, Kirk Cousins was a few centimetres short of a touchdown.

But then things got really crazy: The Bills got the ball in their own end zone, but lost the ball at the snap. Eric Kendricks recovered the ball in the opponent’s end zone and thus provided the touchdown for 30:27.

The remaining 48 seconds were enough for the Bills to equalise with a field goal and take the game into overtime. The Vikings completed their first drive of overtime with a field goal. Bills quarterback Josh Allen threw an interception on the following drive to give Minnesota the game-winner;

Allen totalled 330 passing yards, one touchdown pass and two interceptions. Wide receiver Stefon Diggs caught passes for 128 yards against his former team.

Detroit Lions at Chicago Bears 31:30

German wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown of the Detroit Lions won the brother duel against Equanimeous St. Brown of the Chicago Bears. He was the most effective pass receiver on the field with 119 receiving yards. Equanimeous was not thrown to in the game, but ran twice for a total of 9 yards.

Jamaal Williams ran in the decisive touchdown for Detroit with 2:21 minutes left in the game. Lions quarterback Jared Goff threw passes for 236 yards and a touchdown. Bears playmaker Justin Fields finished with 167 passing yards, two touchdowns and an interception, but also impressed with 147 yards and two touchdowns.

Cleveland Browns at Miami Dolphins 17:39

The Miami Dolphins have a commanding victory over the Cleveland Browns. Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw for 285 yards and three touchdowns. Jeff Wilson Jr. was also among the key players in this game with 119 rushing yards and a touchdown. Wide receiver Tyreek Hill was less noticeable this time, catching five passes for just 44 yards.

Jacoby Brissett, the Browns’ pass rusher, recorded 212 passing yards and one touchdown pass. Donovan Peoples-Jones caught passes for a strong 99 yards, Amari Cooper for 32 yards. Running back Nick Chubb provided a space gain totaling 81 yards.

Houston Texans at New York Giants 16:24

Saquon Barkley ran for 152 yards and a touchdown to lead the New York Giants to victory. Quarterback Daniel Jones threw for 197 yards and a touchdown. Darius Slayton was the most effective pass receiver with 95 receiving yards and a caught touchdown pass.

Davis Mills, the Houston Texans quarterback, threw for 319 yards, one touchdown and one interception. Dameon Pierce was primarily responsible for the running game, rushing for 94 yards.

New Orleans Saints at Pittsburgh Steelers 10:20

The Steelers got the better of the Saints in front of their home crowd. Quarterback Kenny Pickett threw for 199 yards and got into the end zone once himself. The other touchdown for Pittsburgh was run by George Pickens. Alex Highsmith excelled on defence with two sacks.

Andy Dalton, the quarterback for the New Orleans Saints, threw for 174 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions. The big weakness was the running game, which was almost non-existent with 29 yards, while the Steelers gained 217 yards on the ground.

Denver Broncos at Tennessee Titans 10:17

In an uneventful game, the Denver Broncos were defeated. Quarterback Russell Wilson completed 21 of his 42 passes for 286 yards, threw one touchdown and one interception. The Titans’ pass rush made life difficult for Wilson, who conceded six sacks.

The running game was not a big factor for either team. The Broncos finished with 65 rushing yards, the Titans 63 rushing yards. Ryan Tannehill, the Titans’ playmaker, recorded 255 passing yards and two touchdowns.
