After weeks of speculation, the deal is now official: A.J. Brown is leaving the Philadelphia Eagles to join the New England Patriots.
The deal has been in the works for a long time, and now it’s official: A.J. Brown is leaving the Philadelphia Eagles to join the New England Patriots. The Eagles confirmed this on Monday.
According to the deal, the Eagles will receive a 2028 first-round pick and a 2027 fifth-round pick from the Patriots in exchange for the Pro Bowl receiver.
The Patriots will assume the remaining four years of Brown’s contract. The top receiver will become the new number one for quarterback Drake Maye in Foxboro.
A nice side effect: The move reunites him with his former coach Mike Vrabel, under whom Brown previously played for the Tennessee Titans.

Eagles: Brown holds franchise record
During his four years with the Eagles, Brown set several franchise records. In 2022, he recorded 1,496 receiving yards. For the Eagles, he scored a total of 32 touchdowns, caught 339 passes for 5,034 yards, and was a key part of the team’s Super Bowl victory in February 2025.
The 2019 second-round pick initially played for the Tennessee Titans until 2021 before joining the Eagles.
