NFL: Former College Superstar Steps into the UFC Ring in Las Vegas

Former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel has finally switched sports. It has now been confirmed that he will step into the cage at a UFC event in Las Vegas on May 23.

Former NFL quarterback Johnny Manziel will throw down at UFC Apex on May 23, 2026, in Las Vegas.

The 33-year-old will face off in a boxing match against American influencer Bob Menery. The two have already been feuding online.

The fight has therefore been anticipated for some time. Until now, however, experts had assumed the two would face off in Miami.

But for UFC CEO Dana White, the fight has too much potential, which is why it has now been announced for the major event in Las Vegas.

Manziel still enjoys legendary status in college

“Johnny Football” made a name for himself during his college days at Texas A&M University and even became the first freshman to win the Heisman Trophy in 2012.

His subsequent time in the NFL lasted only two years. In 2014, he was drafted by the Cleveland Browns as the 22nd overall pick, but was released during the 2016 offseason. Off the field, Manziel made a few missteps.

He subsequently played in smaller leagues, including in Canada.

His college days in Texas remain legendary for many fans to this day and, due to significant interest, were adapted into the Netflix series “Untold.”
