NFL – TV expert slams Shedeur Sanders after weak debut: “I’ve never seen anything like it!”

After a weak NFL debut by Shedeur Sanders, US experts are now tearing him apart.

Fifth-round pick Shedeur Sanders played in his first NFL game in Week 11. Previously, he had spent all his time with the Cleveland Browns behind Dillon Gabriel and, before that, Joe Flacco, mostly as the third or second quarterback.

He replaced Gabriel in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Baltimore Ravens, when the Browns were still leading 16-10. But he couldn’t keep the momentum going and they ended up losing 16-23.

The former Colorado Buffaloes player did not have a good day. He completed only four of his 16 passes, gained 47 yards, and threw one interception. He also lost the ball on a sack, although it did not result in a turnover.

After the defeat, the TV broadcast showed a visibly dejected Sanders sitting alone on the Browns’ bench. This seemed to annoy ESPN analyst Rex Ryan: “He’s sitting there all alone on the bench. I’ve never seen anything like it. I know this from Game 7 of the World Series, when you’ve just lost.”

“But this is a game that hardly matters, a real duel with no great significance. Was he really that upset, or was he just trying to show off and make everything about himself?”

NFL expert: “Share a moment with Lamar Jackson!”

The expert also pointed out Sanders’ missed opportunity to talk to star quarterback Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens: “Over there is a player who, by the way, has been voted MVP twice, Lamar Jackson. He was looking for you. He was looking for you right there. Take advantage of the moment with him. Share a moment with Lamar. He’s looking everywhere for you.“

”And then you go to your teammates. They’re your people. You talk about not being able to handle losing. Do you think anyone in that locker room can? Hopefully not.”

Meanwhile, head coach Kevin Stefanski stated that Gabriel will remain the starter.

However, if the third-round pick does not clear concussion protocol in time for Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders, Sanders will start.
