NFL: Jared Goff of the Detroit Lions could break two quarterback records

On Sunday in the Detroit Lions’ game at the Green Bay Packers, Peyton Manning and Brock Purdy’s records are in grave danger.

Jared Goff could achieve something on Sunday that even NFL legends like Tom Brady or Joe Montana have not managed.

If the Detroit Lions quarterback continues to perform as strongly as he has recently in the NFC North top game against the Green Bay Packers, he could set a double record.

According to NBC, he is on the verge of pulverizing the previous records in two categories – completion percentage and passer rating – over a period of six consecutive games.

In the past five games, the teammate of German wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown has completed an incredible 88 of his 106 passes, which corresponds to a completion percentage of 83.0 percent.

The previous highest completion percentage in a six-game period was achieved by Peyton Manning in 2008 with 78.3 percent.

Goff is also in a whole new league when it comes to passer rating. In the past five games, which his Lions have all won, he has a passer rating of 146.5.

The previous NFL record for a six-game span isn’t that old, set last year by 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy at 138.1.

Only the Packers’ defense could prevent Goff from reaching both of these magical marks.
