Patrick Mahomes. What a player, what a performance. There truly hasn’t been an individual performance like this in the NFL at this level in a long time. The question must almost be allowed if there has ever been anything like it before in a Super Bowl.

Because: banged up the entire game, limping for two quarters – and yet Mahomes led his Kansas City Chiefs to the second Super Bowl triumph in his still young NFL career.

A brilliant individual performance that should silence even the biggest Mahomes critic. A bravura performance that shows: you can’t get more MVP than that!

Mahomes: The ankle of the nation

21 passes received on 27 attempts for 182 yards. Three touchdown passes. Scored 38 points with his team against the league’s best defense. Mahomes delivered against the Philadelphia Eagles. This extraordinary performance was consequently rewarded with the Super Bowl MVP Award. And with what? Rightfully so.

After all, these are just the bare figures. Because as mentioned earlier, the star quarterback played with a bruised ankle. He did the same in the Championship Game against the Cincinnati Bengals. Then, shortly before the break of the Super Bowl against the Eagles, the big shock. Mahomes again suffered a nasty ankle injury after a tackle.
