Philadelphia Eagles concede first loss of season to Washington Commanders

The Philadelphia Eagles have conceded their first loss of the season after eight victories

Munich – The Philadelphia Eagles have conceded their first defeat of the season. The NFL’s only unbeaten team up to that point lost 21-32 to the Washington Commanders in the Monday Night Game.

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts threw for 175 yards, two touchdowns and an interception, and also ran into the end zone once himself. The running game was not a big factor for Philadelphia with 94 total yards. Miles Sanders was still the most effective runner with 54 rushing yards.

Taylor Heinicke, the quarterback of the Washington Commanders, threw for 211 yards, but did not throw a touchdown pass and threw an interception. But the running game was more effective than the Eagles’ with 152 yards. Brian Robinson Jr. ran for 86 yards and a touchdown.

Eagles go scoreless for two quarters and give game away

The Eagles completed their first drive with a Jalen Hurts touchdown to close out the first quarter with a 14-7 lead, but then let the game slip away. While Philadelphia remained scoreless for two periods, Washington scored a touchdown and three field goals to take a 23-14 lead.

At the beginning of the fourth period, DeVonta Smith brought the Eagles back to 21-23 with a touchdown run, but no further points were scored. On the final play of the game, as the Egales went deep from their own half with several rallies to take their last chance at a touchdown, Casey Toohill of the Commanders recovered a fumble and carried the ball into the end zone.

While Philadelphia is now at a record of 8-1, Washington has an even record with five wins and five losses.
