NFL: Seattle Seahawks – Pete Carroll faces “difficult decisions”

There are no short-term personnel consequences for the Seattle Seahawks after a disappointing season – but they cannot be ruled out in the medium term either. Russell Wilson is apparently exploring his options once again.

Munich – The Seattle Seahawks also had talks during the week of truth. Coach Pete Carroll, general manager John Schneider and owner Jody Allen sat down together after yet another disappointing season.

In the wake of “Black Monday” with the usual layoffs, there was speculation that the franchise might not respond to the poor season in terms of personnel. But the trio spoke because the three do it after every season. It was not about dismissals, lack of confidence or doubts.

Discussing, analysing and positioning: Of course, the conversations revolved around the future, how to get the Seahawks back to title contention after a mediocre year.

Exploit all possibilities

“Whatever’s there, we have to exhaust every opportunity for our club, and ownership wants us to take advantage of every single opportunity to make the franchise better,” Carroll said on “KCPQ FOX 13. “We’re going to need some time to put it all together, and we have a lot of tough decisions to make this year.”

Carroll stressed, “I love this team. We have the core of a title team here, and we’re going to try to keep it together. “

Question marks behind Wilson

Whether the heart of this team will still be there in 2022 is the big question, because as the “NFL Network” reports, quarterback Russell Wilson is apparently still looking into a possible transfer. “We always thought I would be here,” Wilson said at one of his final press conferences of the season.

He added: “That’s always been my goal, to win multiple Super Bowls, and my plan is to be here and do that. You take each day and just enjoy the moment.”

However, according to an inside source, Wilson is said to want to analyse all his options this summer before deciding whether to stay or not.
