After two losses in a row, the Minnesota Vikings got back on track against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but had to hang on for victory after a strong first half.
Minnesota/Munich – The Minnesota Vikings won 36-28 against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the Thursday Night Game.
In the first half, it looked like the Vikings would win the game, leading 23-0 at halftime and going up 29-0 in the third period. But it got exciting again: The Steelers found their way into the game in the last quarter, scored 21 points in the final period and cut the deficit to eight points with 4:19 minutes to go.
Because the Vikings’ offensive move was then unsuccessful, Pittsburgh got possession of the ball again with 2:11 minutes to go. The Steelers got to the opposing 12-yard line, but quarterback Ben Roethlisberger’s final pass was incomplete.
Dalvin Cook was the man of the match
Roethlisberger threw for 308 yards, three touchdown passes and one interception. Najee Harris was very effective with 94 rushing yards and a touchdown.
Kirk Cousins, the Vikings’ playmaker, had a rather mixed game. He threw for 206 yards and two touchdowns, but he also made two interceptions. The man of the match was running back Dalvin Cook with 205 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
The Vikings have a record of six wins and seven losses. The Steelers have a record of 6-6-1.
