NFL – “Field unplayable”: Players’ union files grievance against NFL and Carolina Panthers

The players’ union NFLPA has filed a complaint against the NFL and the Carolina Panthers. The reason: At the game between the Detroit Lions and Panthers on the last game day, the “field was unplayable”.

In the aftermath of the Carolina Panthers’ 37-23 win, the players’ union NFLPA has gotten involved. This is reported by NFL insider Adam Schefter. The reason: the pitch was “unplayable” and the condition of the turf had deteriorated further in the course of the game. The NFLPA had already expressed concerns before the match.

The two teams played each other in temperatures around -7 degrees Celsius. Lions quarterback Jared Goff said after the game that the turf felt like “cement” and that the turf condition was not up to NFL standards.

No serious injuries were recorded in the game. The Panthers polished their record to 6-9, while the Lions were 7-8 after the game.
