Wide receivers are known to go fast in the NFL, but professional football player Jordan Addison completely overdid it off the field.

The Minnesota Vikings rookie was going 140 miles an hour (just over 220 km/h) on a freeway outside St. Paul, the speed limit at that spot was only 55.

Pass catcher Addison (21), the 23rd pick in this year’s draft, was not arrested. The investigation is ongoing. “We are aware of the traffic incident involving Jordan Addison and are gathering additional information,” the Vikings announced.

Vikings rookie faces hefty fine

According to a police report, an officer noticed a Lamborghini Urus driving at a grossly excessive speed on Interstate 94 shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday night. Addison was stopped and now faces a hefty fine.

In Minnesota, drivers who had more than 100 miles per hour on their speedometer while speeding can have their licenses suspended for at least six months. Training camp begins Sunday for the Vikings’ rookies.
