Equanimeous St. Brown: Second start of the season could mean retirement for Green Bay Packers

Equanimeous St. Brown will make his second start of the season in his second home game for the Green Bay Packers. However, this could be his last game for the club.

Munich – The paths of the Green Bay Packers and Equanimeous St. Brown are at a crossroads after the 4th game day – this has to do with the new NFL rules.

Each member of the practice squad may only be called up to the active squad for two games this season. That is the case with the wide receiver with German roots, after he had already been nominated before the home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers in the duel with the Detroit Lions for his brother Amon-Ra St. Brown on Game Day 2.

St. Brown in 53-man squad or on waiver list

With that, the Wisconsin club now has a decision to make: Either add EQ St. Brown to the 53-man roster in full, or put him on the waiver list and any other team could sign him from there. That’s what Article 33, Section 5f, in the Collective Bargaining Agreement states.

The rule also states that if a Practice Squad player is also placed on the practice squad by another club after two appearances, he can be placed on the squad again up to two times. However, if the professional does end up back with his previous team as part of the Practice Squad, he cannot be brought up again.

In his two appearances this season, the 2018 sixth-round draft pick had failed to make much of an impact. Against the Lions, he failed to gain any space with a reception, and against the Steelers, he was thrown at once, denied a catch. In the special teams, he only stood out with one penalty.
